Buffalo Stands Firm on Water Fluoridation
Despite RFK Jr.'s Opposition: Local Dentists Weigh In.

Buffalo has decided to keep fluoride in its public water
supply, despite recent recommendations from
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. opposing water fluoridation.
The city’s health officials reaffirmed their commitment to
fluoridation, citing decades of research proving its benefits in
preventing tooth decay, especially in children
and underserved communities.

RFK Jr., a well-known critic of vaccines and certain public
health policies, has expressed concerns over potential health
risks linked to fluoride. His stance has gained traction
in some circles, but Buffalo’s local government and
dental professionals remain
unconvinced.

Local Dentists have stated that fluoridated water is one of
the greatest public health achievements of the 20th
century. Removing it would only increase cavities, especially
in lower-income communities with limited
access to dental care.

Public opinion in Buffalo remains divided.
Some residents worry about long-term health
effects, while others trust the science behind fluoridation.
For now, the city remains firm in its stance, ensuring that
fluoride will continue to be part
of Buffalo’s tap water.
